cPanel Reseller Hosting in the UK: WHM, White-Label Pricing and How Agencies Actually Sell It

UK cPanel reseller hosting explained — Fast2Host WHM plans from £25.36/mo, CloudLinux + LiteSpeed stack, white-label nameservers, illustrative margins, migrations and when to jump to a VPS.

cPanel reseller hosting is how UK agencies and web designers sell hosting under their brand without running a data centre. You buy a wholesale plan with WHM, create client accounts in cPanel, set your own retail prices, and keep first-line support. The host runs hardware, network, backups and the panel stack.

At Fast2Host that stack is cPanel reseller hosting on CloudLinux + LiteSpeed in our Cambridge data centre, on AS48825. Published from-prices currently start at £25.36/mo. This guide is the commercial-research companion to that product page: what reseller hosting is, what the packages include, how white-label works, and when shared reseller is the wrong tool.

What is cPanel reseller hosting?

Shared cPanel is one account for your website. cPanel reseller is a WHM (Web Host Manager) login that sits above many cPanel accounts. From WHM you:

  • Create hosting packages (disk, bandwidth, inodes, parked domains, mail)
  • Provision, suspend, unsuspend and terminate client accounts
  • Point private nameservers (for example ns1.youragency.co.uk)
  • Brand the cPanel theme so clients never see the upstream host
  • Push AutoSSL / Sectigo certificates across accounts
  • Hand clients a familiar cPanel for files, email, MySQL and Installatron (150+ apps)

You do not get a dedicated server or root SSH on the Fast2Host reseller plans. Kernel, LiteSpeed, CloudLinux, Imunify360 and the Cambridge network stay ours. That is the point: wholesale infrastructure, retail relationship.

If you only have one brochure site, buy cPanel hosting from £4.45/mo instead. Reseller starts making sense when you are billing several clients for hosting, SSL and mail and you want those invoices to carry your name.

Shared cPanel vs reseller vs Cloud VPS

Shared = your sites. Reseller = WHM for client accounts. VPS / dedicated = you own the box when shared reseller resources are no longer enough.

Bar chart of Fast2Host cPanel reseller monthly vs yearly-equivalent prices

Green = monthly. Blue = yearly invoice divided by 12. Live cart: cPanel reseller hosting.

Paying yearly on these figures saves roughly £39 (Starter), £91 (Standard) and £127 (Enterprise) versus twelve monthly invoices — about 13–17%, before VAT.

Every plan includes, as published on the product page:

  • Full WHM access and 100% white-label (private nameservers + cPanel themes)
  • CloudLinux isolation (CageFS / LVE) and LiteSpeed Enterprise with LiteSpeed Cache
  • Free cPanel / Sectigo AutoSSL
  • Acronis daily backups (cPanel plugin restores)
  • 600Gbps always-on DDoS protection on the edge
  • Imunify360 / WAF against common CMS exploits
  • 99.99% uptime SLA on the web-hosting platform
  • Free migration of existing cPanel reseller accounts
  • 30-day money-back guarantee; after that, 30 days’ notice, no exit fees
  • 24/7 UK engineers — we support you, not your end clients by default

LVE / I/O published per plan:

Cloud CPURAM per siteDisk I/O
Starter60%1GB50%
Standard65%1GB60%
Enterprise70%2GB70%

MySQL databases and subdomains are unlimited on all three tiers (still bounded by disk and CloudLinux). PHP 7.0–8.4, Node, Python and Ruby are available on the Linux cPanel platform; 1-click apps go through Installatron, not Softaculous.

Disk, bandwidth and hosted-domain allowances by reseller plan

There is no separate “max clients” counter. You are limited by disk, bandwidth and (on Starter / Standard) hosted domains you allocate in WHM.

Who UK cPanel reseller hosting is for

A good fit

  • Web design / WordPress agencies hosting 10–200 brochure and WooCommerce sites
  • Freelancers who want hosting as a recurring line on the same invoice as retainers
  • MSPs who want Linux PHP hosting without standing up WHM on their own VPS yet
  • Migrating resellers leaving a US or overcrowded UK shared farm for Cambridge residency

A poor fit

  • One personal blog or a single company site — use cPanel or WordPress hosting
  • ASP.NET, Classic ASP or Microsoft SQL Server — that is Plesk reseller on Windows
  • High-isolation or custom kernels, Docker hosts, game servers — Cloud VPS or dedicated. If you are choosing between a busy shared account and a VM, see shared hosting vs VPS hosting.
  • Mail-only bulk sending — shared/reseller IPs are the wrong product; reputation and abuse rules still apply

How white-label actually works

Clients should never need to know Fast2Host exists. Practically:

  1. Nameservers — register ns1 / ns2 glue at your registrar against the IPs we issue, then set those as the default in WHM. Client domains use ns1.yourbrand.co.uk, not a Fast2Host hostname.
  2. cPanel theme — logo, colours, login page. WHM paper licences the panel; branding is yours.
  3. Packages — you decide whether “Starter website” is 2GB + 5 mailboxes at £6.99 or 10GB + 20 mailboxes at £12. Fast2Host charges the reseller fee only.
  4. Billing — WHMCS, Blesta or your own invoices. The platform is WHMCS-compatible; automation is yours to wire.
  5. Support split — you own password resets, “how do I create a mailbox”, plugin fires. We own server-level incidents, migrations we have agreed, and WHM/platform faults. Open those with us via a ticket (Abuse / Compliance is the wrong department — use Technical Support or Sales).

That split is why agencies look competent at 22:00: Cambridge engineers escalate the platform while the client still emails you.

Platform stack under a white-label cPanel login

What you are really selling (and what CloudLinux does)

A reseller plan is a shared pool. Twenty quiet brochure sites and two abandoned WooCommerce shops with a brute-force plugin are not the same load.

CloudLinux CageFS isolates each cPanel user so they cannot read other users’ files. LVE caps CPU, RAM and I/O per account using the plan’s published percentages. If a client exceeds limits, that account is throttled — it should not take your whole WHM list down. You can still upgrade that account’s package or move the noisy site to a VPS.

LiteSpeed + LSCache is what visitors feel on WordPress. Server-level cache hits skip most of PHP. See LiteSpeed WordPress hosting: what matters and WordPress Toolkit for the day-to-day WP workflow inside cPanel.

Imunify360 and edge Corero DDoS are included so a client’s abandoned plugin or a volumetric hit is not your 3am hardware problem. Details: DDoS for UK businesses. Kernel-level issues on shared/reseller (for example GhostLock / CVE-2026-43499) are why we patch CloudLinux rather than handing you a raw shared kernel.

Acronis daily backups let you or the client restore files, databases or mailboxes from the cPanel plugin. That is not a substitute for an off-panel backup the agency keeps — it is the platform restore path.

Email on reseller is for ordinary site/domain mail (Starter 500 mailboxes, Standard 2,000, Enterprise unlimited as published). It is not an ESP. Compromised mailboxes that spam will be treated under our acceptable-use / abuse process.

Illustrative margin (you set the retail)

Fast2Host does not set what you charge. The worked example below is so agencies can see the shape of the model — not a promised profit.

Assume Reseller Standard at £45.68/mo and 15 client sites at £7.99/mo each:

GBP / month
Client invoices (15 × £7.99)£119.85
Wholesale Standard− £45.68
Gross before VAT, card fees, WHMCS and your first-line time£74.17

Illustrative margin on Reseller Standard with 15 clients at £7.99

Ten quiet sites at £5 will look different from eight WooCommerce shops at £15. Disk fills faster than domain count. When Standard’s 60GB / 400GB / 250 domains is tight, upgrade to Enterprise (120GB / 600GB / unlimited domains) in place — packages and branding carry over. When you need root, a custom PHP build, or noisy neighbours are your WHM list, step up to VPS/dedicated and run WHM yourself.

Reseller vs buying 15 shared cPanel accounts

If those 15 sites are your employer’s brands and you are happy for Fast2Host to be the named host, shared accounts can be simpler. If you are an agency, reseller is usually cheaper and cleaner commercially.

cPanel reseller vs Plesk reseller

Plesk Starter / Standard / Enterprise currently match the same £25.36 / £45.68 / £63.47 monthly from-prices, with Windows IIS, SmarterMail and MSSQL database caps (10 / 20 / 30). Panel choice is the stack, not the logo. Longer comparison: cPanel vs Plesk.

Migration, DNS and going live

We migrate existing cPanel reseller accounts at no charge — files, databases, mail, typically with staged batches if you do not want a big-bang weekend. Typical sequence:

  1. Order Starter / Standard / Enterprise and get WHM.
  2. We (or you) create matching packages; we copy accounts from the old host.
  3. Check sites on hosts-file / temporary URLs; issue SSL on the new names.
  4. Move nameservers or lower TTL then flip A / MX records.
  5. Watch mail and cron for 24–48 hours; decommission the old box only when you are sure.

Agency migrations of live shops should follow the same discipline as migrating WordPress to a UK host — staging, SSL, DNS, not “export XML and hope”.

Cancellation: 30-day money-back on reseller plans, then 30 days’ notice, no lock-in. Individual clients can be terminated in WHM without cancelling your reseller product. After account closure, customer data is wiped after a 7-day retention window (as published on the product FAQ).

When reseller hosting is no longer enough

Move up when you see persistent LVE throttling on multiple accounts, disk/bandwidth upgrades every month, or a client who needs SSH, Docker, a dedicated IP pool for mail, or PCI-style isolation you cannot promise on shared. Paths:

  • Cloud VPS — your own WHM/cPanel licence world (licence separate unless quoted)
  • Dedicated / HPE — noisy or high-I/O estates
  • Colocation — you already own the servers

Shared reseller remains the right default for most UK design agencies.
