Setting Up a Connection in FileZilla Site Manager
FileZilla Site Manager allows you to save FTP connection details for one or more servers. This makes it easy to reconnect later without re-entering your login information.
Before you begin
Ensure FileZilla is installed and running, and have your FTP connection details available.
Open Site Manager
- Open FileZilla.
- Click the Site Manager icon in the toolbar, or press Ctrl + S.
Create a new site
- In Site Manager, click New Site.
- Enter a name for the connection.
- Optionally, organize sites into folders.
Enter connection details
- Host: Your server hostname or domain
- Protocol: FTP or SFTP (recommended if available)
- Encryption: Use explicit FTP over TLS if supported
- Logon Type: Normal
- Username: Your FTP username
- Password: Your FTP password
Save and connect
- Click Connect to test the connection.
- If successful, FileZilla will connect to the server and save the site automatically.
Reconnect using Site Manager
To connect again later, open Site Manager and select the saved site, or use the drop-down arrow next to the Site Manager icon.
Disconnecting
When finished, click the Disconnect icon in the toolbar.
