Connecting To A Remote Server With Quickconnect In FileZilla

Connecting to a Remote Server Using FileZilla Quickconnect

FileZilla includes a Quickconnect feature that allows you to connect to a remote server quickly without saving the connection details. This is ideal if you only need to connect once or occasionally.

Before you begin

Make sure FileZilla is installed and running on your computer. You will also need your FTP connection details.

Quickconnect login details
  • Host: Your server hostname or domain name
  • Username: Your FTP or hosting account username
  • Password: Your FTP password
  • Port: Leave blank unless instructed otherwise (typically 21)
Connecting using Quickconnect
  1. Open FileZilla.
  2. Enter your host name in the Host field.
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. Leave the Port field blank unless you were given a specific port.
  5. Click Quickconnect.

If the details are correct, FileZilla will connect to the remote server.

Understanding the FileZilla interface

Once connected, your local files appear on the left and the remote server files appear on the right.

Disconnecting from the server

When you are finished, click the Disconnect icon in the toolbar to close the connection.
