What Is Shared SSL, And How Do I Use It?

How Does Shared SSL Work on Fast2Host?

Fast2Host provides free shared SSL for customers who need to secure parts of their website without purchasing a dedicated certificate. This allows you to access secure content using a URL similar to:

https://secure.fast2host.com/your-domain/

Your exact shared SSL URL will be shown inside your hosting control panel:

  • Plesk: Websites & Domains → Hosting Settings → SSL/TLS
  • cPanel: Security → SSL/TLS Status → View Certificate Details

When shared SSL is enabled, a dedicated folder will appear in your hosting file manager:
Plesk: httpsdocs/ or a system-created shared SSL directory
cPanel: Public SSL path assigned automatically by AutoSSL

Any page you upload to the shared SSL directory can be accessed securely. Example:

https://secure.fast2host.com/your-domain/mysecuredpage.html

You do not need to purchase anything for shared SSL, as it is included with all hosting plans.

If you prefer a certificate for https://www.your-domain.com, Fast2Host can install your own commercial SSL certificate for an additional fee. Please contact our Sales Team for pricing.

Need a Dedicated SSL Certificate?

Upgrade from shared SSL to premium EV, OV, or Wildcard certificates for maximum trust and security.
