Do Shared Hosting Accounts Include A Dedicated IP Address?

Do Shared Hosting Accounts Include a Dedicated IP Address?

Shared hosting plans use shared IP addresses by default. This means that multiple hosting accounts and websites share the same server IP address.

When viewing your IP in cPanel or Helm, you are seeing the shared server IP, not a dedicated IP assigned solely to your account.

Can I Access My Website Using the Server IP?

No. Because the IP address is shared between multiple customers, you cannot access your website directly using:

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Instead, you must use your FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name), for example:

https://yourdomain.com

Shared hosting relies on Server Name Indication (SNI), which routes traffic based on the domain name you enter.

Can I Get a Dedicated IP for My Hosting Account?

Yes — dedicated IP addresses are available as an optional upgrade for customers who need one, such as:

  • Legacy software requiring IP-based access
  • Special SSL configurations (rare — SNI works for most)
  • Custom server applications
  • Advanced DNS or firewall setups

To request a dedicated IP, please contact our support team.
