Unlocking Domains and Using EPP Codes
A registrar lock prevents a domain from being transferred to another registrar. This is a security measure that only the account holder can change on individual domains. Not all domains have locks, but they are commonly used on .com and .net domains. In addition to unlocking, you will also need the EPP authorization code to transfer the domain.
Transferring Top-Level Domains (.com, .net, .org)
- Unlock the domain at your current registrar.
- Request the EPP/authorization code from your current registrar.
- Log in to your Fast2Host Client Area.
- Select Domain Registrations from the menu.
- Choose Transfer a Domain.
- Enter the domain name and the EPP code to initiate the transfer.
Please note: Fast2Host cannot assist with unlocking or retrieving codes from other registrars, as we do not have access to their systems.
Transferring UK Domains (.co.uk)
For UK domains, you need to contact your current registrar or host and ask them to change the IPS tag to ENOM. An EPP code is not required for .uk transfers.
Transferring Away from Fast2Host
If you wish to transfer a domain away from Fast2Host:
- Log in to your Client Area.
- Select your domain name and click More Options.

Unlocking and obtaining your EPP code ensures secure domain transfers. Always keep your registrant details up to date to avoid delays.
