Do You Offer POP3/SMTP Mail Services?

POP3 and SMTP Access with Outlook

Fast2Host supports both POP3 and SMTP protocols, allowing you to send and receive email using desktop applications such as Microsoft Outlook.

POP3 Access

POP3 allows you to download emails from the server to your local computer. This is ideal if you prefer to store messages offline in Outlook or another email client.

SMTP Access

SMTP is used for sending emails. Fast2Host provides multiple port options to ensure compatibility with your ISP:

  • Port 25: Default SMTP port.
  • Port 49: Alternate port for Windows hosting (use if your ISP blocks port 25).
  • Port 26: Alternate port for Linux hosting (use if your ISP blocks port 25).

Authentication Requirement

If you are using Fast2Host’s SMTP server, you MUST enable authentication in Outlook:

  1. Open Outlook and go to File → Account Settings → Account Settings.
  2. Select your email account and click Change.
  3. Click More Settings.
  4. Go to the Outgoing Server tab.
  5. Tick the box: My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  6. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  7. Click OK to save changes.
✔ Tip: Always enable SMTP authentication to prevent relay errors and ensure secure delivery of your emails. If port 25 is blocked by your ISP (e.g., AOL), switch to port 49 (Windows) or port 26 (Linux).
