Can I Delete My Log Files In CPanel Or Plesk?

Can I Delete My Log Files?

Yes, you can delete your log files at any time in both cPanel and Plesk. However, logs are an important diagnostic and analytics tool, so you should only remove them if you no longer need the data.

Automatic Log Retention

Fast2host systems automatically manage log rotation:

  • Logs older than 30 days are automatically deleted.
  • Current logs and recent logs are retained for performance and analytics.

You can manually delete log files if you want to free up space, but this is rarely necessary as our automated system maintains them for you.

Important Note for SmarterStats Users

If you are using SmarterStats or any other advanced analytics software, we strongly recommend not deleting your .log files. These log files are required to generate accurate statistical reports and historical traffic data.

Without log files, SmarterStats cannot rebuild or display your past traffic reports.

Where Log Files Are Located

  • Plesk:
    /logs/
  • cPanel:
    /home/username/logs/

You can download, delete or archive log files from these directories at any time.
