Can I Have Access To My Log Files?

Accessing Your Raw Log Files in Plesk and cPanel

Yes, Fast2host provides all customers with full access to their raw web server log files. These logs include access logs, error logs and other diagnostic information essential for monitoring traffic, analysing issues and improving website performance.

Your log files are stored separately from your website files so they do not interfere with your site structure.

Log File Location Overview

  • Plesk: Logs are stored inside your domain’s Logs section (GUI), or directly under the hosting directory in the logs folder.
  • cPanel: Raw log archives are available under MetricsRaw Access, and error logs are accessible via MetricsErrors.

Logs are kept on the server and rotated automatically. You can download them at any time.

Accessing Raw Logs in Plesk

  1. Log in to your Plesk control panel.
  2. Select your domain from the list.
  3. Click Logs from the left-hand menu.

From here you can:

  • View live logs in real time (access, error, proxy, SSL logs, etc).
  • Filter logs by type or date.
  • Download raw log files for external analysis.
  • Access rotated log archives (typically .gz files).

Raw logs also exist in your hosting directory under:

/logs/

This folder sits one level above your /httpdocs or /wwwroot folder.

Accessing Raw Logs in cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to Metrics.

From here you have several log tools:

  • Raw Access ‐ download raw access logs for your domain.
  • Errors ‐ view recent Apache/PHP errors.
  • Awstats or Webalizer ‐ graphical traffic reports.

Raw log files inside cPanel accounts are also stored automatically in:

/home/username/logs/

This folder contains compressed log archives that rotate regularly.

Why Access Raw Logs?

  • Troubleshooting website errors
  • Tracking traffic or suspicious activity
  • Diagnosing 404 and 500 errors
  • Improving security and performance
  • Analysing visitor patterns before installing analytics
