Fast2Host Is an Acronis Cyber Protect Partner — With Our Own On-Premises Cluster
Why we run Acronis Cyber Protect as an authorised partner on our own UK on-premises cluster — ransomware defence, granular recovery and data residency without relying on someone else’s backup cloud.
Backup is only as good as where it lands and who can restore it at 3am. That is why Fast2Host is an authorised Acronis Cyber Protect partner — and why we operate our own on-premises Acronis deployment cluster inside our Cambridge Tier III data centre, rather than treating backup as a thin reseller shell on a distant public cloud.
What “partner with our own cluster” actually means
Many hosts sell a white-label backup SKU and push your archives to a third-party region you never see. We took a different path:
- Acronis Cyber Protect for backup, recovery and cyber protection under an official partner relationship.
- Our on-premises cluster hosted in Cambridge — storage, management fabric and policy control sit on Fast2Host infrastructure we own and operate.
- UK data residency by default — backups stay subject to UK data protection expectations, with optional geography if you need secondary replication.
You still get Acronis’s platform (agents, console, encryption, Active Protection). You also get a UK NOC that already runs the same stack for our shared hosting, WordPress and managed customers.
Benefits of Acronis Cyber Protect
Acronis is not “just a zip of last night’s files”. The product line we deploy covers:
- Backup and recovery — full image, file-level and application-aware jobs, with granular restore of files, mailboxes, databases or entire machines (including dissimilar hardware).
- Ransomware defence — Acronis Active Protection uses behavioural AI to block ransomware and roll back damaged files from the clean backup chain.
- Encryption — TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest, optional archive passwords so only you hold the keys.
- One console for many workloads — Windows and Linux servers, VMs (Hyper-V / VMware), workstations, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SQL Server, Exchange and more.
- Hybrid destination options — keep copies on our UK cluster, combine with local tiers, or use wider Acronis cloud footprints when compliance asks for a second country.
That mix matters for agencies, MSPs and operators who are tired of cobbling antivirus, backup and restore tooling from three vendors.
Why on-premises still wins for UK customers
Public SaaS backup is convenient until latency, egress myths or “which region is my data in?” become board questions. An on-premises partner cluster in Cambridge means:
| Concern | How our cluster helps |
|---|---|
| Data residency | Primary copies stay in our UK facility |
| Restore speed | Short path from Cambridge storage to your Fast2Host server or colo kit |
| Support | Same engineers who run the cluster also take your ticket |
| Hosting tie-in | Daily Acronis jobs already protect many cPanel / WordPress accounts we host |
Colo and dedicated customers get the same story: protect bare metal or hypervisors into infrastructure that sits next door — not an anonymous bucket on another continent — with 24/7 UK support on the recovery path.
Who should care
- Teams replacing ageing NAS sync jobs with a proper image + ransomware stack.
- Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace tenants that need a real backup (retention is not a backup).
- Anyone who wants cyber protection and restore in one product family, backed by a UK partner with skin in the game.
Explore plans and workloads on our Acronis Cyber Protect page, or ask sales for a quote sized to the servers and SaaS seats you need to protect.
Takeaway: partner status without operational ownership is marketing. We run Acronis as a partner and on our own Cambridge cluster so backup, residency and restore stay under UK control.
