Alternate SMTP Ports for Fast2Host Hosting
Many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) now block port 25 for sending third-party email through their gateways.
To resolve this issue, Fast2Host provides alternate SMTP ports for both Windows and Linux hosting environments.
Windows Hosting
Use port 49 instead of port 25 when configuring your SMTP settings.
Linux Hosting
Use port 26 instead of port 25 when configuring your SMTP settings.
Why ISPs Block Port 25
Port 25 is the default port for SMTP email transmission. However, due to widespread abuse by spammers, many ISPs block outbound traffic on port 25 to reduce spam and protect their networks. Using alternate ports ensures your email can still be sent securely through Fast2Host servers.
Recommended Settings
- Always use authentication with your full email address and password.
- Enable SSL/TLS encryption if supported by your email client.
- Test your configuration by sending a sample email after updating the port.
✔ Tip: If you encounter issues sending email, check your ISP’s restrictions and switch to the recommended alternate port.
